Young smiles brightened the scene as children of all ages gathered at the Light It Up Blue event organized by Families for Autism Support and Awareness led by Veronica Orduno in partnership with Laredo ISD.
A variety of local institutions and agencies set up information tables. Specially baked Autism Week Conchas were baked and given by Quickie Bakery.
Attendees explored various booths, partook in games, marveled at a Jeep parade, and danced to their hearts' content.
Laredo Mayor Dr. Victor Trevino delivered a proclamation, designating April as Autism Awareness Month.
The night concluded with a touching moment: families encircled blue-lit trees, wielding blue wands, as children reveled in the festivities.
